Of course, it’s also important to sit up every half an hour to get the blood flowing to the brain and extremities. When your mind starts recognizing an area to focus and study, it’s easier for you to study. That doesn’t mean you should have to sit in total silence.
Study With Background Noise
There’s a reason many people work out of a coffee shop or library. There’s just enough subtle noise in the background to keep the brain stimulated without being distracting. However, that doesn’t mean put on as much noise as possible. Having too much noise can keep your mind from focusing on your studying tasks.
Too much noise can increase levels of stress as you’re trying to focus. When you’re stressed, your body releases a hormone called cortisol. Cortisol can interrupt your brain’s ability to retain short term memory because it reduces the dopamine in the prefrontal cortex. Stimulation from too much noise will affect memory. However, the right amount of non-distracting background noise can keep the brain stimulated just enough to retain information during study sessions.
Remind Yourself Of Your Goals

One of the best tips for adjusting to remote learning is to remind yourself what motivates you. This helps you self-regulate your actions and keep you moving forward. You can write down your goals, put posters in your study area, or have photos on your laptop’s background. These visual stimuli should be something to look at to help you remember why you’re working hard on your academics.
